Swale

A swale is an earth embankment used to direct the flow and drainage of water. This is a very effective way to drain off surface water. If there is groundwater, view our section curtain drains. 

 

Swales can be beneficial in diverting water from your home. This allows water to properly drain before reaching your foundation. The soil adjacent to the foundation walls should slope away at least 6" in elevation at a minimum distance of 6'.
